When Teams is the right path
One of the conditions below is the honest signal that self-serve won't cover you. Most accounts don't need the Teams plan; we don't pitch upward when Pro fits.
Bespoke contract terms beyond published per-app pricing
Teams itself is self-serve at $149/app/mo — unlimited apps and seats. The Custom-contract Teams motion signs what self-serve doesn't cover: multi-currency billing, custom retention, contract minimums.
Procurement requires SSO / SAML, SLA, security review, MSA, or annual contract minimums
Self-serve handles credit-card billing and Stripe receipts; if your finance team needs a contract, we sign one.
Regulated-category claims
Healthtech, fintech, legal, children's apps — needing the Rights Administrator role, CSM-gated review, and the claim-safety contract enforced workspace-wide.
Multi-region deployments
Where data residency (US / EU / APAC) is part of the contract; your workspace pins to a region and processing stays in-region.
Managed AI on contract terms
Every plan runs managed AI as the metered default, with Connect-your-AI-Model (BYOK Anthropic / OpenAI / fal.ai) preferred. Custom-contract Teams can fix the managed-AI terms, model mix, and spend contractually.
